Materials

Birthday Crown

Ivory Felt

High-quality, soft felt that is perfect for a crown base! The 36×36 inch sheet is large enough for approximately 5 crowns.

Felt Sheets

Hands down the best assortment of felt in SO many pretty colors!! I love the “macarone,” “morandi” and “dark” series.

Rainbow Wool Felt Balls

Handmade in Nepal. Colorful, high-quality felt balls.

Pastel Wool Felt Balls

Felt balls hand-crafted with 100% wool. You’ll never go back to using craft store pom poms. Be sure to order the 1.5cm size!

Embroidery Floss Pack

A pack of DMC’s 36 most popular colors! One “skein” is enough to stitch the border of about 3 crowns.

Embroidery Floss Single

DMC is my go-to affordable floss brand. The singles are perfect if you only need/want a few colors.

Embroidery Floss Starter Kit

The perfect embroidery starter kit! The assortment of colors is incredible (and even comes with needles).

Velcro

Velcro for attaching interchangeable numbers to your crown.

Embroidery Floss

If you buy single skeins from DMC (or elsewhere), use this set to organize your floss. Optional ofc!

Sequins

Super fun, totally optional. Great way to add easy details to your crown.

Seed Beads

Another optional way to add detail to your crown. Stitching these on is easier than you’d think!

Tacky Glue

Tacky glue, but make it quick dry!

“Stop Fraying” Glue

I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand a fraying edge. I apply this to the cut end of all of my ribbons.

White Ribbon

I love a simple white ribbon. Grosgrain is durable, easy to clean, and pretty!

Tools

Needles

I love using a larger needle for embroidery, but you’ll need to size down if you are stitching seed beads. This pack comes with both!

Heat Erasable Fabric Pen

If you want extra guidance when stitching, draw on the felt to create a “guide” to follow. Use an iron on LOW heat to make ink disappear.

Rubber Needle Gripper

If you have butter fingers like me.. buy now, thank me later.

Large Scissors

A tried and true pair of crafting scissors that I’ve had for years.

Detail Scissors

Fine-tip scissors make it much easier to cut detailed felt pieces. These ones are great quality!

Fabric Clips

Goodbye pins, hello clips. No more stabbing your fingers when you try to keep your felt pieces together while stitching. Game changer!
