A collection of simple, reliable craft supplies. Gathered here to make getting started easier.
Welcome to my supply cabinet.
These are the exact materials I use when creating The Keepsake Table guides. I’ve tested each item so you don’t have to spend time researching products or wondering what will work best.
I intentionally choose materials that are easy to find, affordable, and durable.
Easter Advent Eggs
Materials
Paper Mache Eggs
Lightweight eggs that are easy to paint, sturdy enough to last for years, and snug enough that they won’t fall open on their own.
1/8” Satin Ribbon
This ribbon fits perfectly through the hole in the egg, and doesn’t distract from the egg when hanging.
Meri Meri Floral Napkins
Meri Meri has the cutest napkins! Can be purchased on Amazon, Target or from their website.
Acrylic Paint
Folk Art is my favorite affordable acrylic paint brand! Try colors: Sky Mist, Lilac Ice, Ballet Pink, Daybreak, Vintage White, Pumpkin, and Faded Jade.
Acrylic Pens
Fine tip pens for adding the finishing touches to your eggs!
Gold Brads
I recommend these rounded brads because they hide the ribbon knot. A small detail that makes the eggs look extra polished and professional!
Acrylic Paint Markers
It can be tricky to find acrylic paint markers that aren’t too bright, but this one has a great mix that feels like spring. Applies like a paintbrush.
Gold Glitter
I love the “chunky” size of this glitter. Large enough to add real dimension, but small enough that it still looks smooth.
Plastic Egg Carton
Another fun, transparent, egg carton option. This one leaves a bit of wiggle room around the eggs.
World Market Napkins
How cute are these?! A good rule of thumb is to look for napkins with small repeating patterns.
Cardboard Egg Carton
Paper mache eggs fit snugly in this “goose egg” carton when the eggs are turned upside down. Tie a ribbon around to make it extra cute!
Lace Ribbon
This lace goes well with everything. Dainty and strong all in one. Perfect for wrapping around your egg carton.
Mod Podge (matte)
What can’t Mod Podge do?! The matte finish keeps eggs from looking overly glossy (they’ll still have a slight sheen).
Tacky Glue
Tacky glue, but make it quick dry!
Tools
Paint Brush Set
A paint brush set I’ve had for years. The roll up canvas brush case is a game changer for easy storage and transportation.
Paint Palettes
Reusable paint palettes. Perfect for paint in the outer wells and Mod Podge in the center.
Large Scissors
A tried and true pair of crafting scissors that I’ve had for years.
Detail Scissors
Fine-tip scissors make it much easier to cut detailed napkin designs. These ones are great quality!
Foam Paint Brushes
These foam brushes apply paint and Mod Podge smoothly without leaving visible brush strokes. Can also purchase at your local craft store!
